How do I change my login/password? I forgot my password. Can you tell me what it is? How do I change my email address? How do I create a profile? What does “Checking Someone Out” do? Why can’t I send messages? How does the site find automatic matches for me? Why doesn’t my search return any matches? Is my information private? How do I keep other members from knowing that I looked at their profile or checked them out? How do I add my photo? How long will it take for my photo to appear? I’m not getting very many / any responses. What could be wrong? What are the guidelines for posting a photo? How do I update my profile? What happens to my profile if I cancel my subscription? What happens to my account if I cancel my profile? How do I search other members profiles? Do I have to pay to become a member? Can I manage the e-mails I get from HelpUConnect? How can I start a conversation with the Instant Messenger (IM)? How do I change my login/password? Go to your home page and click on “manage your account” then click on “manage account setting”. I forgot my password. Can you tell me what it is? No problem! Just click on Forgot Password enter your email address, and we’ll send you on e-mail your password. How do I change my email address? You can change your email address and other personally information in the Manage Your Account section. How do I create a profile? Creating and posting a profile is free and takes only a few minutes. Think of it as a quick sketch of who you are, your lifestyle, and what counts most in a relationship. Our questionnaire will highlight your personality and interests. What does “Checking Someone Out” do? The check out section is designed for non-premium members to be able to communicate with people of interest. You will be presented with a form set of options for a message to send to another member, and the other member will then receive that message! Why can’t I send messages? This is a service provided only to Premium Members. How does the site find automatic matches for me? In the preferences section you have set general search criteria. Whenever you view the site, we randomly select profiles that fit your criteria, and display them for you, so you can find someone who fits you quick and easy! Why doesn’t my search return any matches? The search method we use on helpUconnect.net is an exclusive search, meaning the system looks for individuals that meet strictly your criteria. Therefore, it will not return matches that mismatch even one of your criteria. If you are having problems with not finding matches, you should widen you search criteria. Is my information private? Your personal information is 100% secure in our encrypted My SQL database. All passwords are encrypted using MD5, which is unbreakable by anyone, even our own staff! Other users only see what information you put in your profile, and never your home address, last name, or other personal items you may not want them to know. And of course, if you don’t want to include some information in your profile, just don’t! How do I keep other members from knowing that I looked at their profile or checked them out? If you don't want other members to know when you've looked at their profile or hot listed them, go to Profile Display Settings in Member Services and select "hide" in the section called "Show/Hide When I View Or Hot List Members." But remember, members who are most active on the site keep their profile visible in all places because it ups their chances of connecting with people. You never know, someone special may be looking for you but never find you if your profile is hidden. So before you hit "hide," give it a chance to work. How do I add my photo? Simple go to your home page and click on “photographs” from the menu, you have the option of adding four photos. How long will it take for my photo to appear? Normal posting time for photos is 1 hour. Our Quality Assurance team must approve each photo to maintain the quality of matches available through HelpUconnect. I’m not getting very many / any responses. What could be wrong? There are a number of things you can do to increase your visibility: Make sure all 5 sections of your profile is completely filled out. Your criteria in your profile may be too specific. Go to “Edit Profile” and try to broaden your match criteria. Once you make those changes, our technology will compare your profile responses with others to find the profiles that matches you best. What are the guidelines to adding photos? You can upload 4 photos of yourself with your profile. Please note that you must appear in each of the photos – we will not upload photos of children or pets only. Nudity, obscenity, sexual or otherwise offensive photos will not be uploaded. How do I update my profile? Please login and click on “profile”. You will then be given the option to update all or any part of your profile. What happens to my profile if I cancel my subscription? Your profile will remain the same as it was prior to you canceling your subscription. The only difference will be, you would not be able to email, message or have the option to see who emailed you. What happens to my account if I cancel my profile? Your profile will automatically be hidden from other members after completing the cancellation process. You may reactivate your profile at anytime by taking it off hidden status. How do I search other members profiles? You can search other members profiles by clicking on “Search Members” or going to your home page. Do I have to pay to become a member? Membership is absolutely free. Just register with helpuconnect.net and become a member to use most of our features. It only takes a few moments. Can I manage the e-mails I get from HelpUConnect? You have the choice to receive weekly or daily E-mails from us about your matches. You can manage the settings in the 'Preferences' Section. How can I start a conversation with the Instant Messenger (IM)? You can start a conversation by clicking on the IM link left from the username. You will get a popup window in your browser. Write a message in the lower part of the window and click on send. The user you are writing to will have the option to accept or deny your invitation to chat. |
